MVHR Vision, Mission & Values
MVHR Mission
Mountain Valley Horse Rescue’s (MVHR) mission is to rehabilitate and rehome equines in need, while working to reduce the cases of at-risk equines through education and outreach.
MVHR Vision
MVHR envisions a world where every equine is loved and cared for. Until then, we provide rescue services and act as a center of excellence—educating, raising awareness, and changing attitudes and practices to improve equine welfare.
MVHR Values
RESPECT
Every equine is cared for, valued and respected as an individual.
Every person with whom MVHR interacts is respected and valued as an individual.
COMMUNITY
MVHR actively participates in and contributes to our broader communities.
MVHR supports the Western farming, ranching, cultural, historic and equestrian roots of our community.
EDUCATION
We value our unique position to teach about and connect people with equine welfare, care issues, and skills.
PARTNERSHIP
We offer lifetime consultation for adopters of our equines and we will always take back an equine who has been adopted from MVHR.
STEWARDSHIP
The welfare and needs of each equine are first and foremost.
The land, and all of the natural resources in our care, will be managed towards long term improvement and sustainability.
MVHR rescued its first horses in 2004, and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2005.
