Gratitude from the herd...
When the horses at MVHR speak, they say THANK YOU!!!! With quiet nickers, excited whinnies, and leans in for scratches they say loud and clear: Thank you to our amazing MVHR Community that has made our next chapters possible!
MVHR’s Mission to rehabilitate and rehome at-risk horses in need would not be possible without YOU, our Community. Your commitment to caring for these amazing animals - by volunteering, adopting, fostering, surrendering and donating - makes a difference to each and every one of the horses who find their way to MVHR.
So far in 2025, YOU have made possible:
70 Horses & Mules cared for at the ranch and by direct placement into new homes. Our largest number yet!
35 Intakes who began their Journeys of Hope.
28 Equines who have graduated from their Journey of Hope into loving adoptive homes.
2834 Volunteer Hours ~ With a growing core of Volunteers through Community Volunteer Days and the Hopeful Hearts Program, more of you are putting your feet in the dirt here at the ranch and making a difference in the lives of the MVHR Herd, every single day of the year.
Expanding support to provide critical resources to meet not just the basic needs of the Rescue herd, like Veterinary and Farrier Care, Grain and of course Hay, but also special care such acupuncture, osteopathy, whole food diets and herbal supplements as well as hospital and surgical care to completely support horses in recovery!
Extensive Evaluation, Daily Training and Handling provided by MVHR staff as well as volunteers who help the horses learn everyday about the kindness of people.
Over 1300 program participants, all who put hands on horses, learned about horsemanship and MVHR’s mission.
A variety of Equine Educational & Service Programs for schools, businesses and partner organizations, growing our community of Horse Advocates through education and outreach.
The Improvements at the Ranch to support the daily care of the horses: a water filtration system, quarantine stall improvements, patience poles for horses in training, a physical therapy course and the much needed extension of the Hay Storage building, bringing 100 large round bales under cover!
Celebrating 20 years of helping horses which has been deeply impactful for both horses and people, thanks to you!!!
